NIH Recognizes Bioforce Echinacea Research

Bioforce USA announced that its meta analysis on Echinacea was chosen as one of the top 25 research papers of 2006 by the Annual Bibliography of Significant Advances in Dietary Supplement Research, published by The NIH, Office of Dietary Supplements. The research was conducted by Bioforce AG scientists Roland Schoop and Andy Suter.
As stated by the NIH the purpose of this bibliography is “to raise the level of knowledge on scientific development of dietary supplements as they relate to health promotion, health maintenance and disease prevention.”

The NIH utilizes a multi-step process to select the 25 papers. First is the identification of peer-reviewed journals publishing original research concerning dietary supplements, followed by a targeted literature search of each journal to identify original papers concerning dietary supplements, which are then evaluated by an elite group of internationally recognized scientists. Each paper is scored independently based on the quality of the research and implications to public health. The scores received are tallied to identify the top scoring 25 papers. The 25 papers chosen through this process are then annotated and sent for internal review before appearing in the final annual bibliography. The annotations are written from information contained in the original papers, related press releases, commentaries, editorials, and reviewer comments.

Most of the recognized studies were funded by NIH and/or other government agencies. The Bioforce study was funded by entirely by Bioforce. Bioforce has always been a leader in the field of herbal research. This research should help propel A. Vogel Echinaforce as a preferred immune-support supplement.
